I have been down with flu for the second time in two months.
I have visited the doctor's clinic last week complaining that I have a burning throat and a slightly runny nose, and he told me I had common flu (upper respiratory tract infection to be accurate), he gave me some meds and off I went.
I finished my meds (almost) and was coughing really badly over last weekend. I dragged myself to the doctor's clinic again yesterday. This time, there was a different doctor.
Doc: Your airway is quite constricted, do you / your family have a history of asthma, maybe when you were a child?
me: No... None of us in my family used to have asthma...
Doc: Oh, that's better... [more questions about how crappy I felt] You have infections in your airway, and your airway is quite constricted. I will give you some meds to help you with that. You also need antibiotics this time to rid your infections. Remember to finish the whole course of meds. [blah blah blah]
me: Err... I have infections in my airway? So... Just infections, not bronchitis...?
Doc: Oh, no, you do have bronchitis, you just started to have it. Not too bad... [what? bronchitis is not bad enough?] People who have serious bronchitis will have trouble breathing.... You don't have pneumonia...yet... (quite light-heartedly)
me: -_-"'
So, here I am with bronchitis, coughing so badly that my head aches, keeping me up all night coughing and making me feel like crap. Glad that the meds are starting to work and I am feeling a little better now. Need to go back to work tomorrow...
