June 01 Spinning Kit18 May is my birthday. One of my best friends and my knitting buddy, Cynthia, bought me a spinning kit. How on earth did she know I was eying spinning for a while now, and is itching to give it a go? Well, somehow she found out and she got me this beautiful spinning kit, which included a handpainted top whorl wood spindle, and, I quote (from the Etsy shop description) "4 ounces of handpainted roving, 1 oz of
undyed white roving for practice, an illustrated instruction booklet
and a plastic drawstring bag to keep it all in". Fun didn't end there of course, she also knitted me a cashmere cowl with yarn in an "Amy" colourway, oh, how soft and warm this cowl is, I am going to have a warm warm winter this year! Thanks Cynthia!  |
