18 May is my birthday.  One of my best friends and my knitting buddy, Cynthia, bought me a spinning kit.  How on earth did she know I was eying spinning for a while now, and is itching to give it a go?  Well, somehow she found out and she got me this beautiful spinning kit, which included a handpainted top whorl wood spindle, and, I quote (from the Etsy shop description) "4 ounces of handpainted roving, 1 oz of undyed white roving for practice, an illustrated instruction booklet and a plastic drawstring bag to keep it all in".  Fun didn't end there of course, she also knitted me a cashmere cowl with yarn in an "Amy" colourway, oh, how soft and warm this cowl is, I am going to have a warm warm winter this year!

最近一直在弄這個，初時總是很擔心完成時會很不像樣，現在總算還可以吧~

這是我第一次用棉線編東西，這線有點散，不太好編，但優點是顏色漂亮。編到中段，線變得沒開始時散，但作品倒是有一點硬，不夠柔軟，也許是我手藝不夠好吧。下次，我想試試用出名柔軟的無垢棉來編編看，看看能否編出柔軟好看的baby 編織。

If you are wondering what I am doing in my spare time (if any, and in addition to my favourite spare time activities of sleeping and eating), this is what is taking up my spare time (and possibly a little bit of lunch time and sleep time).

I hope I can get it done before the next winter, pretty aggressive timetable taking into account my crocheting speed...

Recently, I am quite into knitting and crocheting - just like cooking, knitting and crocheting helps to wind me down after a full day of hard work, and helps to make me sleep better.  As a "side effect", these are some of the "output" / "consequences" from my knitting and crocheting~
